Very nice editing I must say. Though I didn't find it all that funny.

Well *I* liked it. And I'm not just saying that because it featured me.  :P

Howdy, welcome aboard.  ;D

P.S. What does hand taste like, Whanny?

There is so much controversy surrounding it I honestly don't see it happening. More likely they will do the trials, more protests will ensue, and both the filter and Conroy will get moved to the shit-heap.

That's what I'm hoping for anyways.

Yeah me too Vax. After hearing about all the turmoil it's caused in Iraq & China, and heaps of national AND international criticism from the experts (did you here that conroy won the "internet villian of the year" award? LOL.), I just can't understand how they could go through with it, even though it's just a front for their ulterior motives.

I heard the Israel government just voted against an internet filter for their country.

EDIT: The censordyne ad is starting to get played on TV already - after some news shows on Channel 7, ABC and Sky I think.

Yeah they're trying to get the add on TV, let's hope they get enough funding. It is indeed a great add!

There's a website for it as well: www.censordyne.com.au

Looks like it's getting plenty of attention already!

So true, woehhh.

Yeah I'll sign up with a VPN (probably a good idea regardless of the filter), but I just can't believe we're headed in the same direction as oh-so-great countries as China and Iran. And yeah regardless of whether we bypass it or not, we'll still be suffering slow internet speeds.

GetUp.org have made a commercial protesting the filter which is supposed to be going on free to air TV soon. Should get heaps of exposure, and about damn time.

24
I'd say there is Mahlron, and just for reference about the entire internet filter they were pondering about, a 14 year old had a Firefox add-on within 32 hours that bypassed it.

LOL, well I for one will be installing that add-on.  ;)  Shows how bogus this whole thing is...

Let me just say right now that I almost guarantee that it'll be easier to get around the government-implemented filter than, say, the DET's filter stopping kids from getting to facebook at school.

I've been going to protests and stuff about the filter scheme for a while now.

tl;dr we keep playing what we want, the pedophiles keep pedophilin', and everyone has to suffer slow internet and technological incompetence at the highest levels of government.

Right on, Star. Let's just hope they drop the whole thing when Conroy's exposed as the slimey moron he is. What offends me the most is how the government subtly tries to imply that opposing the filter means we support things like kiddie porn. They hide behind the whole "protecting the children" arguement, when all they really want is power over what we can and can't view. Where will it end?
